Izmir Homeland Health Museum

İzmir State Hospital, formerly known as Gureba-I Müslimin Hospital, is the first Muslim hospital in İzmir that has been serving uninterruptedly since its establishment in 1851. The hospital, which was started to be built with the initiative of Emin Muhlis Pasha from Izmir, is a two-storey building built of cut stone and brick, reflecting all the characteristics of its period. In 1892, it was expanded out of need by the Architect of the Dock Management, Monsieur Rok. The name of the Guraba-i Müslimin Hospital, which was transferred to the private administration in 1914, was changed to 'İzmir Homeland Hospital'. After serving under the name of İzmir State Hospital since 1950, when the hospital moved to Yesilyurt, the building was renovated and continued to serve as İzmir Gynecology and Maternity Hospital since March 1985. In 2000, renamed as Dr. Ekrem Hayri Üstündağ Gynecology and Maternity Hospital, it operated as the Konak Branch of Izmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital. The Homeland Health Museum, which is planned to be established here, is still under construction.
