Although mother-of-pearl is a branch of art seen in different parts of the world, it is possible to find traces of its developed and common examples in Ottoman art. It is made by a basic technique that involves fixing mother-of-pearl obtained from the shells of some marine animals with specific adhesives and wires placed around them in hollows and pits opened on a wooden surface.
The history
