Alsancak Railway Campus
The Alsancak Railway Campus, located in the İzmir Liman Arkası and Umurbey District, is on the west of Atatürk Caddesi, on the north of Liman Caddesi and on the east on Şehitler Caddesi. The campus, which has a residential area of approximately 12 hectares, has entrances from three streets. The breakdown of the structures in the campus is concentrated in three different regions.
The history
It was built in the Ottoman period. After the declaration of the Republic, Alsancak Railway Campus was purchased and nationalized on 01.06.1935 upon the decision taken at the Izmir Economy Congress and the 2nd Operation Directorate was established.
