Beydağ

The smallest district of Izmir, Beydağ lies on the mountains that are arable and on fertile lands on Küçük Menderes River and Basin on the north. It takes its name from the mountain Beydağ on the south and is neighbors with Nazilli, Ödemiş, Kiraz, and Sultanhisar districts. Therefore, if you’re planning a trip that includes those neighborhoods, you might choose to stay in Beydağ.

Where to visit

Since it’s far from the sea and the ancient cities, Beydağ is not the most popular touristic destination in İzmir. However, this doesn’t mean that there are no places to see in the district. The roadside facilities by the Beydağ Dam and the Ovacık Tableland welcome tourists in summer months from neighboring villages and districts. You can eat by the dam at any hour during the day, have breakfast and can tour it by your vehicle or on foot. Beydağ Castle, Kemerli Köprü on Küçük Menderes River and Taş Köprü on Tasavra River are other must-see places in the area.

What to do

You can do line fishing at Beydağ Dam. On the other hand, Aydın Mountains and Karlık Site, located south of the district are very suitable for paragliding. You can also take nature walks by Beyköy Quarter and Karlık
